The original idea of this post (“Where is PP”) was to embed a Google calendar of upcoming events I was a part of. (Bad sentence construction.) It’s obviously taken a turn, thanks to your comments on the post. So: Just in case you haven’t already written and heard from me via email, or Facebook, or Twitter, or UStream, I will give you the short story. Channel 6 let me know in August that I was being taken off their morning show and moved to weekends. After considering my options, I decided to leave, and gave notice a few days after the schedule change began.
If you have emailed me and haven’t received a response yet–you will. I’m still a few days behind on that. It’s easier to stay on top of the social networks since I’m on them all the time. For those who may not know, I’m on the web at http://www.paulpoteet.com, and from there you can find links to me on Twitter, Facebook, WZPL, WQME, and WXXC. I’m still doing everything else I was doing, and am even playing around with a studio webcam on Live Stream, for those who really want to still “watch” me in the morning! If you’re with me in these places, you’ll know the places I’ll be in next.
BTW, since it is an FAQ in the hundreds of responses I’ve read: My buddy Tom will be fine. We talk or email every day. He’s a clever talent, and I look forward to working with him again. Because he owes me money.

The dynamics of the morning news team are gone without Paul! There's no fun in the mix, even Tom is subdued. It's just not the same. I'm joining the "Bring back Paul" club and switching to another channel for morning news as a protest.

I'm going to do the same thing. I totally agree that the Channel 6 news team is boring without Paul. He was the lifeline of that team. I liked everyone else better when he was on there because he brought out their sense of humor and fun. He made watching the news worthwhile. The lady that replaced him is boring. I'll join the Bring back Paul club! I'm boycotting Channel 6 news now and will have to find another boring news channel. What a loss!

I have to agree. The morning news just isn’t the same. I no longer stick on 6. I float to 13 and 8 now. I loved Paul’s sense of humor in the mornings.

Since I moved here to Indiana I only watched channel 6 news because of Paul Poteet, not any more, I have switched to channel 13 where is he

I thought he went on vacation but after a week then never came back I went looking for him. Has anyone heard if he will be on a different channel? I hope so. Like what was said before poor Tom he isn't the same without Paul.

Paul.. I pledge allegiance to Paul Poteet.. wherever he goes, we will follow with our viewing loyalty.. I HATE how TV comings and goings NEVER are announced.. We went on vacation and when we returned…No Paul!.. what a travesty !.

Are the PTB blind??? Move you to weekends??? Why on earth would they split up such a good thing? the banter was so funny…always made me laugh! And not just with Tom, the whole morning crew made mornings fun…why would they want every-other-channel-BLAH?! Was it too much fun? Not "news-like"? Good grief! I thought Paul was on vacation. I waited another week and no Paul. I had to come here to find out what was going on. I am not going to watch RTV6 anymore. Paul and Tom made me look forward to the news. Watching channel 6 now is bland. I am forced to watch Chuck Lofton now.
Sure want Paul Back. Morning news sure is boring now. He was a bright spot to start a day. This Great Grandma sure misses you.

We were missing you at our house, but now know the rest of the story. Like the others, Tom and you gave us a reason to watch. We will no longer intentionally go to 6 in the AM. Good to still hear you on the radio. God's blessings to you and your family.

Our house will no longer watch RTV6 News! Can't believe this has really happened…don't they know you don't fix something that isn't broke! Paul…we have watched you for years and will follow wherever you go. I hope the ones that made this decision see what a mistake they have truly made.
I' m now watching other channels for weather coverage and it being presented in a entertaining way. We always have enjoyed the morning coverage and appreciated the morning news because of Paul. We enjoy Grace and the crew but it is not the same value in time without the personality of Paul. Let RTV6 we have gone else where for our morning news since Paul is gone.
Channel 6 is sick. So many peo ple have been let go. And do they think that gal can offer the same quality as you? I haven't liked her from the first, but haven't nailed down what it is that turns me off. Good Luck. Glad to see you have stuff to do.
sorry to "bad-mouth" Crystal. I'm sure she's very nice, but it's just too much syrup in the morning.
Now there is no reason to watch 6 in the morning… My husband and I used to enjoy getting up a little early to catch a laugh with you before waking up the kids for school. Now what will we do? Tom looks lonely with nobody to have fun with!

Channel six – what were you thinking? The MAIN reason I watch channel six news in the morning is because of Paul Poteet. At first I thought he was on vacation but then I realized he's been gone a long time. Nothing against Crystal, but it's just not the same. I may have to find another station for my morning news – your newscast has become FLAT.
So sad! I loved to watch you Paul while I ran on the treadmill in the a.m. I do think you made the right choice~your too good for weekends and besides who gets up early enough to watch??? Nothing against Crystal but they have definately lost their star!

I’m an early riser and would always listen to 6 on the radio while I was getting ready in the morning. I even got wireless headphones after everything went digital so I could still listen in rooms with no tv. The newscast was informative and you always made me laugh with your lightning quick wit. I also thought you were on vacation. Then I came here and read your announcement. I thought about emailing Channel 6, but I figured they just must want to kill their newscasts! Now I know, went on vacation October the 9th, returned on the 19th, no Paul on my morning news. Thought he was on vacation, but this past Monday, no Paul. I was going crazy. Could not find out were he was at. Finally found this. And I agree, the morning show is not the same without Paul, NOW I will have to find a new morning news station.
No more Channel 6 for me. Paul was the main reason we watched. My teenage daughter has a picture of Paul and Sam Champion on her wall. Paul was kind enough to send her a picture a few years ago when he was at the country music awards. I have also changed from a regular channel 6 morning show viewer to another channel. OH NO is absolutely right. The manager of rtv6 is not in his right mind. Loved Paul and his weather reports. Chrystal keeps telling us everytime she is on the screen she is a metereologist and I don't want to hear about it anymore. Moving to another station.

I canNOT believe Channel 6!! How could they let Paul go? What kind of freakshow are they running over there, anyway? Now I know why poor Tom looks so sad every morning. I'm sad, too. I used to love the morning news on 6, it was like a family get-together. Now it's like someone died.
OMG…..I can't believe Channel 6 would make such a big mistake! You & Tom WERE the morning show. My husband and I are in our 60's & 50's respectively, and thoroughly enjoyed watching you. Who can I write to at Channel 6? I'm dead serious too!!!

What a huge error Indy Channel has made. I always loved getting ready for work each day watching the news with Paul – waiting for the sixes for the weather. OMG – I am switching stations. This is ridiculous

Bad decision on the part of RTV6. Paul is why we tuned in faithfully and Paul's departure is why we will NOW watch the competition. If it Ain't Broke….You DON'T Fix it. Nothing against Crystal; however, the morning chemistry without Paul is lacking; what a shame! Best Wishes to Paul and his family!!!
I’m fairly new to Indianapolis from Atlanta and moved around the news channels until I found Paul and Tom in the morning and didn’t look anywhere else. I too thought you went on vacation because you just vanished! This is a bad deal……now I’ll hvae to start channel hopping again.
I love listening to you on the Smiley Morning Show…you are really funny and bring another dynamic to that show! RTV6 is silly for taking you off the air like that – I do think Tom is a great traffic guy – but you guys working together is what made the morning news "watchable". Good luck to you!!
